Carels

Many Amsterdammers remember the old and cozy cafe Carels in De Pijp, which closed its doors over ten years ago. The place was extensively renovated and became the home of a few not very successful restaurants. But now Carels is back again. The owners attracted locally famous chef to work his magic and create reasonably priced but excellent dishes. On the menu: a lobster bisque with crème fraiche and tarragon, vegetarian cassoulet with white beans, grilled veggies and gruyere cheese, but also a great Chateaubriand for meat lovers.

Must try at Carels

For lunch you should try a “Broodje Dobben” this is a sandwich with the tastiest Dutch croquettes or a “Broodje Vitello”. For dinner Carels serves a super juicy black Angus cheeseburger.
