De Luwte

Restaurant de Luwte is a household name in the Jordaan. Many locals and tourists come here to enjoy their great food. The restaurant, located on the Leliegracht, has been in the city since 1986. De Luwte switched owners in 2013 and has gotten a complete makeover!

The new look of De Luwte

With the new owners came a new style of restaurant. The decor is warm and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere thanks to the fireplace and bar. The chefs are amazing. With their knowledge of food they where able to creat a unique, exciting and creative menu with seasonal and fixed dishes. The menu is a French-inspired but we guarantee that it isn’t full of dishes you have had before. Besides great food you they also serve some mean cocktails. With bartenders that are always ready to get the party shaking, you should really try one of their tasty drinks.

Located on the picturesque Leliegracht, De Luwte has been a favorite amongst locals for many years. Snag a table on the waterfront terrace or inside this cozy place and catch up over French-inspired dishes such as steak tartare, lacquered duck breast and grilled scallops.

What to order at De Luwte

With an ever changing menu it is hard to give a recommendation, but luckily the menu also has one absolute specialty: the Tomahawk steak. This is a piece of meat for real meat-lovers. 750 grams of juicy, tender steak to share with your date or to eat alone, if you can. But fear not, the restaurant is not only for meat-lovers, vegetarians can choose from a few dishes as well! Looking for a great wine to go with one of your dishes? Ask the waiter for advice or check the seasonal wine menu for a great drink to please your taste-buds.
