Restaurant De Roode Leeuw dates back to 1911 and enjoys an outstanding reputation. It’s renowned for its Dutch regional specialties such as mussels, herring, “stamppot” and green pea soup.

The interior is cozy with wooden panels, Art Deco elements and beautiful carvings. The restaurant is a unique meeting point in the heart of the city, located at Damrak, just two steps from Dam Square. At any time of the day you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, a drink or an intimate meal. Between noon and 6 pm the menu offers small snacks, salads, sandwiches and a variety of hot dishes. From noon until 10 pm there is an a la carte menu featuring both Dutch regional specialties and more international dishes. Become acquainted with the delightful creations of our chef. It is a good idea to book your table in advance!
