The Duchess

The Duchess is a new, prestigious culinary concept that brings the elegance of classic hospitality, Viennese grandeur and the subtle flavors of Southern France and Italy to Amsterdam. The restaurant is inspired by the splendour and eminence of the Belle Époque.

The Duchess in Amsterdam

According to owner Yossi Eliyahoo (of, among others, MOMO, Izakaya and The Butcher), “The race for quality has no finish line and The Duchess is raising the standard.” The restaurant is located in one of Amsterdam’s most well-preserved historic buildings, the former KAS Bank, into which the new W Hotel will move this summer. In keeping with the opulent decor, the Duchess is inspired by the light, refined flavors of southern France and Italy, better known as the ‘Nouveau-Niçoise Cuisine’. All the flavors are carefully crafted in a handmade Molteni kitchen, featuring its very exclusive The Duchess Table, where guests are surrounded by chefs who are practicing their art.

The restaurant has a Royal Nature, you can experience this through the refined flavors from France and Italy. This cuisine is better known as Nouveau-Niçoise. And their custom made kitchen is one that is fit for the royal family.

Award-winning formula

With its imperial home and their refined menu, The Duchess was crowned “Best Luxury Restaurant Bar of Europe” during The World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2017.  This means that their dining experience, interior and quality of food are world-class!

THE DUCHESS’ award-winning bar menu consists of punches and highly creative adaptations of French and Savoy Apéritif; cocktails in consonance with the historic imperial décor by BARANOWITZ + KRONENBERG and the black marble bar with its mirrored backdrop.
