Torture Museum

Discover a painful part of European history at the Medieval Torture Museum. Here they have a collection of more than 100 devices used for torture in medieval times. This unique collection of photos, drawings and instruments of torture reveals the grim character of the middle ages. Experience Europe’s history with this way of punishment at the “Punishments and Verdicts in the Middle Ages” exhibition. During this exhibition 40 torture instruments from different parts of Europe are on display. From the inquisition chair to the infamous guillotine, the middle ages and its justice system comes to live with engravings and historical background information in eight different languages.
