Museum The Mouse Mansion is a miniature world filled with tiny corridors, rooms, and workshops. You can follow Sam and Julia as they lead you to their secret hiding place beneath the stairs, take you on a thrilling boat race in the harbour, and invite you to join the Circus Robberti. These are just a few of the exciting adventures you’ll find in the children’s books of The Mouse Mansion.

This summer the museum is moving to a new building at Muntplein. The old building in Jordaan became too small, so they are now moving to a five-story building. In addition to a store and museum, the new building will become the international headquarters of the company and workshops will be held there.

Moving all seventeen miniature sets from the books will be quite a job. The family business, consisting of author Karina Schaapman, her four children, and a son-in-law, is internationally known. The Mouse Mansion books have been translated into 28 languages and are sold in 34 countries. They are even working on a TV series produced by French and German broadcasters.

“We are slowly conquering the world, without bombs or grenades, but with mice,” said Karina Schaapman, the author and founder of The Mouse Mansion.
