Amsterdam DNA is the permanent exhibition at the Amsterdam Museum. Within one hour, you will get an overview of the history of Amsterdam. The exhibition is built around the DNA of Amsterdam, hence the name. Therefore it is all focused around entrepreneurship, free thinking, citizenship and creativity all divided into seven periods.

For children and their parents we recommend the ‘Amsterdam DNA Family Tour’. This tour is suitable for children aged 4 and up and is available in Dutch and English. The Amsterdam DNA tour itself is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.
