




It’s almost time for the weekend! We have created an Amsterdam Weekend Guide with the most fun events, new hotspots to visit and things to do, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything.
Time for brunch
Nothing beats a good brunch as the start of the weekend. Amsterdam has a lot to offer when it comes to breakfast and lunch spots, so you might have a hard time choosing. The Breakfast Club has quickly become a local favorite because of their all-day breakfast and lunch menu. Pancakes, Chicken ‘n Waffles, Sandwiches and coffee from one of the best coffee roasters in Amsterdam: Lot Sixty One. And if you’re ready for it, they serve some fine cocktails as well. How about a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary? It’s the weekend, so go crazy.
A Friday in style
Lunch at the Westerkerk
On Friday afternoon the beautiful Westerkerk, located on Prinsengracht 279, will host a free lunch with a classical concert by pianist Hans van Haeften. This impressive building alone is worth the visit, but to have lunch in this historic church is definitely a unique experience.
Oysters & Champagne at Café Americain
Located in the iconic American Hotel near Leidse Square you’ll find the Café Americain, that has been there since the 20s. On Friday 14 September they have a classic Oyster & Champagne event from 5 p.m. on. Try different kinds of fresh oysters and pair them with a good glass of champagne. If you’re looking for a night out in style, this is the place to be.
Live music at Brooks
Brooks restaurant is located on the South part of town on the Beethovenstraat 43. This Friday they’ll make sure you begin your weekend with an evening filled with live music, good food and maybe even some dancing. A live jazz band will play from 7 p.m. on, while you enjoy one of their tasty dishes. Tip: try the Couscous with pork chop and gorgonzola or the Crispy salmon with pasta and pesto.
Modern Art at FOAM
The photography museum FOAM has a new exhibition from this weekend on. Loading… Works from the Foam Collection shows a selection of works from 30 international photographers and is a reflection of the ever changing exhibition program of the museum. Explore the constantly evolving nature of photography with these modern art pieces.
Amsterdam Beer Festival
From 14 to 16 September the Amsterdam Beer Festival will be back in town! Expect three days of live music, BBQ and 50 different craft beers from 5 p.m. on. The weather forecast is looking pretty good, so this will be the perfect place to hang out and enjoy some beers and bites.

Something magic
From Friday until Sunday the Magic Circus is coming to town. With modern and classical acts this is a perfect event for the whole family. Their new show Hoe Dan?! (But… How?!) is thrilling and fun, so you’ll be in for an exciting afternoon!

Yoga on top of the A’DAM Tower
Early birds attention! For the last time this summer the A’DAM Tower will host a rooftop yoga session on 16 September from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Are you in for a great start of your Sunday with one of the most beautiful views in all of Amsterdam? Make sure to buy your ticket beforehand via the website.
Funky Vegan Festival
By popular demand the Funky Vegan Festival returns to city beach Dok Amsterdam on Sunday. This food festival is dedicated to showing everyone how good vegan food can be, even if you’re a carnivore. With a wide variety of food trucks, from sweets to Jamaican food and Burgers, you’ll be eating your way through the day!
