It’s time for a new Amsterdam Weekend Guide. We’ve gathered the most fun events, new hotspots to visit and things to do this weekend. So, don’t worry about missing out on anything. Enjoy!
Outsider Film Festival at Melkweg
At the three-day Outsiders Film Festival, all movies shown are about the outlaws and the outcasts. Expect to see classic blockbusters like Bonnie and Clyde, Midnight Cowboy and more! The film selection is made by Erik Backer, Melkweg’s very own outsider, who’s retiring after 35 years of loyal service at the Melkweg. The full program and tickets are available on the website.
London Calling Festival at Paradiso
The Paradiso is bringing London to Amsterdam during their two-day London Calling Festival. On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October you can discover the best London musicians at the iconic music temple. The line-up includes known and up-and-coming artists like The Garden, Jess Williamson and Honey Harper. Check out the website for the full line-up, tickets and more information on the festival.
Halloween Weekend in Amsterdam
Spooky Burgers at the Butcher
From Friday 26 October until 1 November Amsterdam burger hotspot The Butcher has something special on their menu. With Halloween in mind they introduce a fully Black Burger. Besides the fact that they’re very photogenic, they’re freakishly tasty as well!
Afternoon Tea at The Dutchess
The chic restaurant The Duchess has a wonderful thing planned this Halloween: a special themed afternoon tea. The High Tea has a ‘Alice in Wonderland’ charm, because of the excess of teacups, teapots and cake trays they use. Expect finger licking good treats like black velvet macaroons, pumpkin cupcakes, cotton candy and a blood orange fruit salad. To go with that you’ll be served quality champagne and an extravagant tea selection. From 26 to 31 October you can order this limited edition Halloween Afternoon Tea between 12:00 and 17:00.
