Breakfast for champs

What better way to start the weekend than with a good brunch? A local’s favorite for over 17 years now is De Drie Graefjes. Their menu is huge, so whatever you’re in for, you will probably find it here. From Club Sandwiches and Salads, to American Banana Pancakes and Eggs any way you like them. Amsterdam Fashion Week

From Thursday 6 until Sunday 9 September the fashion crowd in Amsterdam gathers for Amsterdam Fashion Week (AFW). A bi-yearly fashion celebration with a program packed with runway shows, presentations and pop-up stores. The iconic Museum Square will be the setting for this event for the first time ever. Although the main program is only accessible for the in-crowd, the Off-Schedule Program is open and free to everyone. Get a free Fashion Week touch-up at the M.A.C stores in Amsterdam or enjoy a livestream of all the shows in the AFW x YouTube pop-up cinema. Tip: if you want to get a chance to attend one of the fashion shows, keep an eye on their website. If there are still tickets available, they’ll appear on there last minute.

Exhibition at the Royal Palace

Until September 16th the historical Royal Palace on Dam Square showcases an exhibition on five stories of unknown locals leaving a lasting mark on this impressive building. Find out who made the bronze tower bells and who was locked up in the cells. A free audio guide is available in Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Russian. Please note: the palace is closed on Sunday.

Tropisch Oost

On Saturday 8 September restaurants, hotels and bars surrounding the Oosterpark have a tropical festivity planned for you. Get busy during an African, Samba or Capoeira dance workshop or unwind during a relaxing massage and spoken word session. Treat yourself to some delicious bites at one of the food trucks and stroll along the fashion market with lots of vintage picks and local designs. Traveling with kids? They’ll have a wonderful time jumping around on the bouncy castle, doing handicrafts or during the kid’s yoga session. Check out the full program on their Facebook eventpage.

Elrow 8th September 2018

This is a go hard or go home type of party. With DJ’s like Joris Voorn, Anotr and Claptone, Elrow is a festival that will have you dancing from start to finish. Expect the unexpected. The NDSM docklands on the north part of Amsterdam will be a playground with different stages, the best electronic music and special themed areas.

Noorderparkfestival

On Sunday 9 September the free cultural Noorderpark Festival will take place. Organized by locals, businesses and organizations located on the North part of town, this event is promised to be a full day of fun. Circus, theater, music and workshops, a program filled with activities for both young and old.

Dinner and cocktails

A quite new addition to the Amsterdam restaurant scene is Miss Moneypenny, located near Dam Square. Their concept is based around shared dining and cocktails. Perfect for a night out, if you ask us. Their tasty dishes like Korean-style Steak Tartare and Fried Calamari with Black Squid Mayonnaise will make your mouth water. If you’re in for more after that head over to the W bar or any of the other rooftop bars Amsterdam has to offer for drinks with a view.
