Come on an exciting journey through the human body at Body Worlds Amsterdam! This exhibition displays real plastinated bodies, giving you a unique peek inside ourselves as humans. This display teaches you about our anatomy and how our bodies work in a way you have never seen before. The original Body World has enjoyed international success all over the world, with tours in more than 100 cities in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. It has drawn more than 40 million visitors since it began in 1995.

Diverse and educational themes at Body Worlds Amsterdam

The Body Worlds Amsterdam exhibition has had some significant changes and incarnations throughout the years. From the effect of health, happiness, sports and diet to the anatomy of animals, Body Worlds Amsterdam keeps on reinventing itself! With that they keep on educating locals and tourists on various topics since the start. The exhibitions all sprung from the great mind of Dr. Gunter von Hagens. He invented the plastination process, that Body World uses for its displays, the University of Heidelberg in 1977. Over the years there have been countless copy cats whho want to do the same thing, but up untill this day he is unmatched in the way he can display the human body.

The current theme in Amsterdam is the Happiness Project. This focusses on our happiness and the effect on our body and well-being. With more than 200 real anatomical models it will give you an amazing insight on how a mood can affect a persons health. Discover the secrets of our body and learn of its functions from a unique perspective.
