Café Panache

Flamboyant Fish and Shellfish with a New York Attitude

Café Panache is the result of the transformation from an old market warehouse into a bustling dining spot. The charcoal grill and cocktail bar will transport you to New York’s Meatpacking district, but in reality you’re right next to the Ten Katemarkt in Amsterdam West. The owners asked the Belgian designer Will Erens (of the Antwerp-based agency Puresang) for the interior which can be best described as urban chic. There is a lot of wood, steel and multi-colored lights and tiles.

Café Panache in Amsterdam

Panache is located right off the beaten track, on the less familiar part of the Ten Kate market. The cafe has a flamboyant and original flair with a little pinch of recklessness, it is probably not a coincidence that that is exactly what Panache means! The menu is market driven using only seasonal ingredients and sustainable fish and shellfish. Panache has a simple approach on food, cooked over a charcoal fired grill, which is placed centrally in the open plan kitchen. The flavors are clean, simple and fresh, and intended for sharing on small and large plates.

The main restaurant also features a large bar with a specialty of cocktails by the pitcher. The smaller and more intimate bar in the front is ideally for drinks and private celebrations.
