This year the holiday season will kick off with the festive ceremony of lighting up the Christmas Tree on Dam Square in front of the Royal Palace. The 20-meter high Christmas Tree is the largest in Amsterdam and will be decorated with over 40.000 lights! On December 8, once the sun is down, all the lights will go on during a celebration with live music, carol singers, food stands and lots of cheerful visitors.
