What other to expect from De Tropen, located in the Royal Tropical Institute the Tropenmuseum, then for it to bring a mix of different cultures to your plate. Restaurant De Tropen is open for breakfast and lunch, perfect for a relaxing moment in-between art gazing. It’s a spot for grandmother’s apple pie, a traditional Indonesian chicken sate and delicious Japanese Ramen overlooking the beautiful Oosterpark.

The calendar at De Tropen is often filled with special day and night time events. Once a month they host the networking and nightlife experience Saint Tropics, combining business with pleasure. Top-notch music, entertainment, delicious cocktails and complimentary snacks of tropical allure. The ‘Early Peaks Happy Hours’ are until 8 PM, so you can peak early and still be fresh to enjoy the weekend the next day!

My Kitchen at De Tropen

Every three months De Tropen invites a guest chef to their kitchen and transform it into a tropical comfort zone. My Kitchen is a multiculinary experience in a relaxed atmosphere with a walking dinner by two top chefs. To complete the evening, two DJs will take you on a musical journey through time!

Previous editions chef Agus Hermawan from Ron Blaauw Gastrobar Indonesia, TV chef Ramon Beuk and Francis Tavarez from Shanghai Bistro took over the kitchen at De Tropen.
