Housed a beautiful canal house from the 17th century Huis Marseille is dedicated to photo art. The museum contains an extensive collection of contemporary works of Dutch and international artists, and up-and-coming talent.
Preserving the art of photography
The museum chooses to show work by artists that have their focus on communication through images. In a time and age where anything and everything can and will be photographed, preserving the art itself is important to the museum. The work they show shows continuous research into avant-garde innovation. In addition, photography in Huis Marseille has a social relevance and many parallels with the changing spirit of modern culture.
