Mississippi Bar Kitchen

mississippi amsterdam hotspot

The freshest addition to Beukenplein in East is Mississippi. Their name originates from the Mississippi River, that passes a multitude of cities by which the kitchen of Mississippi is influenced. From southern American soul food, to Tex-Mex and dishes from the smoker oven. One look at their menu and you’ll start making plans for your next visit. The choices!

Let’s start with the entrees. Smokehouse Nachos, Pull-apart Garlic Bread and Hush Puppies are a few of the tasty options. Want it all? Pick the It’s Hard To Choose, a bucket filled with every starter on the menu.

Comfort food

The Krusty Crocodile Burger with actual crocodile meat is something you don’t see very often. The burger is served with caramelized bacon, crispy onion rings, mango chutney and Granny’s cheddar cheese.

If you want to try an authentic dish, the Jumbo Gumbo is the one to go for. This typical stew is originated from Louisiana and comes with chicken, black tiger prawns, okra, bell peppers, onions and rice. Another favorite is the slowly cooked Beef Brisket served with charred carrots and Georgia Boys butter. This is truly one of the tastiest and most tender Beef Brisket in town! To go with that the bar serves delicious cocktails and a huge selection of U.S.A. beers.

It might be hard to do so but try to keep some room for dessert. Made from Oreo cookies, chocolate, mascarpone & Jack Daniels whisky, The Mississippi Mud Cake is a sweet tooth’s heaven.

Big plus: This amazingly decorated restaurant and bar has some of the friendliest staff you’ll encountered in Amsterdam.
