Dutch chef and entrepreneur Ron Blaauw has some new insights on gastronomy, which he shows in his restaurant Ron Gastrobar Indonesia. In 2013 he said farewell to his Michelin star restaurant to go back to basic. Since then he has successfully opened several other restaurants in Amsterdam where the ambiance is laidback and where the food is reasonably priced and of very high quality.

His third Gastrobar, Ron Gastrobar Indonesia, is located in his hometown Ouderkerk a/d Amstel, only a short drive from Amsterdam. The restaurant has the same laid-back atmosphere we know but the food is far from simple! In this idyllic village you can indulge in great Indonesian dishes, ranging from Balinese street food to a traditional rice table (several dishes served with rice). Ron’s personal link to Indonesian cuisine? His mother-in-law is from Indonesia and her recipe books were a great inspiration for the dishes served at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia.
