Amsterdam’s Museum of Bags and Purses presents the exhibition The Bead Goes On about beaded bags and accessories from the 18th century until the present. The exhibition shows that the use of beads in bags go back centuries, but still is very much in vogue. From exclusive eighteenth-century fashion accessories made of tiny glass beads to the sparkling beads glued onto shoes by contemporary designers: the use of beads is ever-evolving. The museum is located in a distinctive canal house, part of the UNESCO World heritage Canal Ring Area. You can relax in our charming museum café or beautiful courtyard garden.
