So what do you do? Dinner and a movie, roses, chocolates; all nice. But there are lots of other memorable things to come up with, especially in a city like Amsterdam. While in Amsterdam on Valentines Day, one of the most romantic things to do is going on a boat tour through the Amsterdam canals. The city is called the Venice of the north for a reason: all canals combined have a length of over 100 km! Alongside you’ll find countless houseboats and monumental buildings and the almost 1300(!) bridges make for an charming scenery. Tours & Tickets is one of the many offering a wide variety in cruises. A valentines date under the stars; it doesn’t get any more romantic than that. On Valentine’s Day 2019 the Artis Royal Zoo will celebrate love with a special night time event in their Planetarium. You’ll be taken on a journey through the galaxy, learn more about cosmic couples, hear mythical stories about the sneaky relationship between Mars and Venus and explore the attraction between the earth and the moon. In for some action on Valentines Day? Right in the middle of the city center, you’ll find the original Ton Ton Club. This arcade hall is a perfect spot for a fun and active date night out. Take a trip down memory lane in this 80s styled bar where you can play iconic table and arcade games. Have a craft beer or one of their amazing cocktails and get your game on! Their location on the west part of town is even bigger and also has a restaurant serving delicious Japanese inspired street style food. Perfect for a fun evening out.

A different type of Dinner & A Movie

Pllek is located on the North part of town and is known to locals as a favorite to spend any sunny day at their city beach restaurant & bar. In winter this place turns into a cosy hang-out with good food, drinks and bomb fires. This year on Valentines Day they will host a Dinner & a Movie Night. You’ll be served a delicious three-course dinner with a very sweet dessert to share. After that the candle-lit restaurant will make room for a giant screen showing the romantic film (500) Days of Summer. Cosy up on one of the beanbags with a blanket and enjoy! Tickets are available via their website and include dinner, a welcome drink & the movie.

Expect an evening filled with special Valentines Day fun like the Lovebooth, live music and a one-day marriage by Mr. Extravaganza. A Classical Valentines Day

The most romantic concert of the year will be hosted by the iconic Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Their Valentines Day at the Movies concert will swoon you away with amazing film music played by the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra. The Main Hall of this concert hall is known to many as one of the best in the world because of its exceptional acoustics and special atmosphere. World famous musicians like Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss, Igor Stravinsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff have played here. If you’re a lover of classical music, this promises to be a memorable night out!
