Cromhout House presents Wild. Drawing from Life. The show presents 19 drawings of wild animals created by Dutch artists such as Paulus Potter, Albert Cuyp, Samuel van Hoogstraten, Hendrick Goltzius and Cornelis Saftleven. These masters studied the animals down to the smallest detail. The result: superb, meticulous drawings from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.
More about Wild. Drawing from life
Next to the exposition there are also various activities linked to the topic at the Cromhout House. On Fridays there are drawing lessons, lectures about the art of drawing and afternoon teas where they combine a tour of the drawings with some nice refreshments and snacks. During the exposition there is also an audio tour that tells the story behind the animals that are on the drawings. From cows to dogs and marabous, HJaig Balian (former director of Artis) will make sure that you will know everything there is to know about these animals.
