Distillery and tasting room in the Red Light District

Beautifully located on Pijlsteeg, behind Dam Square, at the infamous Red Light District you will find Wynand Fockink. This cosy establishment consists of a charming distillery, an authentic tasting room and a centuries-old café. The establishment has been a piece of liquid history since 1679, these where the early days for local spirits. Amsterdam started distilling their own drinks in the 17th-century when they got acces to the spices brought to the city by the VOC. Try one of the 70 house-crafted liqueurs and genevers and slurp a so-called ‘kopstootje’ at the bar! This bar is a must-visit when you are in the city, we didn’t include it in our Red Light District Guide for nothing.
