A’DAM Toren

A’dam Toren is Looming tall over the Amsterdam North skyline. This landmark 22 story tower is home to a selection of top-notch bars, restaurants – including a 19th floor revolving restaurant – and a rooftop observation deck with stunning views across Amsterdam.

Look over the city from the A’DAM Toren

A’DAM Toren is the new name for ‘Toren Overhoeks’, designed by the Arthur Staal as a commission by Royal Dutch Shell. In fact, the tower is also affectionately known as the ‘Shelltoren’ by many Amsterdammers. It was officially opened in 1971, and was home to the multinational oil company until 2009. Now the tower has a new purpose; housing many new hot-spot attractons in town and a big swing at the A’DAM Lookout. Visit the tower and enjoy one of the restaurants located in the tower. While you are here, don’t forget to explore the rest of Amsterdam Noord, there is so much to see and do here! If you like rooftop bars you should not miss our 15 best rooftop bars article. Getting there with the free ferry
The Amsterdam Public Transportation Company (GVB) has adopted its time tables to that of A’dam Toren. You’re now able to travel back and forth from the city centre to the entertainment area every ten minutes, day and night. Travel by ferry is totally free. It’s also possible to take your bike on the boat. Amsterdam Tower is of course also accessible by other means of transport. Taking a longer route through the city’s main tunnels, however, can turn out to be quite costly.
