Thijs by Dikker & Thijs

Thijs, One of the first restaurants of the city (est. 1916!) had a makeover recently. Restaurant Thijs of legendary hotel ‘Dikker&Thijs’ is situated in a cosy basement on the corner of the Prinsengracht and Leidsestraat. The new interior is very contemporary but the kitchen still delivers delicious classics such as salade Niçoise, Caesar’s salad and ris de veau. Thijs also has a nice small terrace on the Prinsengracht that is the perfect place to sit on a warm summer afternoon.

What to order at Thijs

At Thijs you can order a Dutch classic, a chicken satay with fries. This is one of the favorite Friday night dishes of the locals, if you havent tried it yet you should!

The restaurant is located only a short walk from the Leidseplein, Paradiso and The Melkweg making it the perfect place to start your night out in Amsterdam.
