Carré

Carré, a majestic building along the Amstel in Amsterdam. It was built in 1887 by circus director and entrepreneur Oscar Carré. He had ha famous travelling circus that found its permanent home right there in Amsterdam. Now the building serves as one of the greatest theaters in the country.

130 years later it is no longer home to a circus, but it is one of the most important entertainment buildings in the city. From cabaret to concerts and from opera to musicals, the Theater has something for everyone. National and international stars from all over the world celebrated their greatest triumphs in Carré. The theatre itself has two restaurants and various foyers where visitors can congregate before and after performances and enjoy a bite to eat and a drink. The venue offers a unique theatre experience and a complete evening out.

Carré is situated in Amsterdam East along the Amstel river only a short walk from the Waterlooplein and the Hermitage Amsterdam.
